Since 2003, the Local Government Commission has organized the Capital Region Local Policymakers Dinner Forum (formerly First Thursday Dinner Forums) for elected officials, city managers and county administrative officers from the six-county SACOG region. Every year, six to eight dinner forums are scheduled with each forum highlighting a different topic, such as financing public programs, reducing energy consumption, supporting regional food systems, and exploring the affects of climate change legislation on local governments—especially SB 375 and the scoping plan for AB 32.

Share, Network and Learn
Dinner guests can expect to share and discuss opportunities and challenges related to local governments as well as listen to informative presentations from special guest speakers. The dinner forums provide the opportunity for local leaders to network with their peers, share ideas, learn from each other, and discuss regional issues.
